Costa 2 . 1 Millimeter - Wave Frequency Measurement of the Rydberg Constant
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Rydberg constant, R., relates the wavelengths of the spectrum of atomic hydrogen to practical laboratory units. As such, R. is the natural unit for measurements of many atomic properties. Recent advances in optical wavelength metrology have enabled experiments using laser spectroscopy to measure R. with accuracy approaching 2 parts in 1011.4 While R. remains the most accurately measured fundamental constant, other high-precision experiments, which depend on R. as an auxiliary constant, demand even more accurate measurement. The accuracy of optical wavelength measurements is approaching the practical limitations of wavelength metrology. Further progress in the measurement of R. will require frequency measurements making use of the modern definition of length in terms of time intervals and the defined speed of light.

Chirped-pulse millimeter-wave spectroscopy of Rydberg-Rydberg transitions.
Transitions between Rydberg states of Ca atoms, in a pulsed, supersonic atomic beam, are directly detected by chirped-pulse millimeter-wave spectroscopy. Broadband, high-resolution spectra with accurate relative intensities are recorded instantly. Free induction decay (FID) of atoms, polarized by the chirped pulse, at their Rydberg-Rydberg transition frequencies, is heterodyne detected, average...

This paper presents a low loss and high selective lowpass filter which is implemented using suspended stripline (SSL) technology. The proposed structure is comprised of a 13th order generalized Chebyshev lowpass filter which enjoys integrated waveguide-to-SSL transitions. This filter is designed and fabricated to be used as lowpass channel of a U-band diplexer employed in frontend of a U-band d...
متن کاملChirped-pulse millimeter-wave spectroscopy: spectrum, dynamics, and manipulation of Rydberg-Rydberg transitions.
We apply the chirped-pulse millimeter-wave (CPmmW) technique to transitions between Rydberg states in calcium atoms. The unique feature of Rydberg-Rydberg transitions is that they have enormous electric dipole transition moments (~5 kiloDebye at n* ~ 40, where n* is the effective principal quantum number), so they interact strongly with the mm-wave radiation. After polarization by a mm-wave pul...

1.Introduction Millimeter-wave CMOS RF circuits have been received substantial attention in recent years, motivated by the advancement of CMOS process. The RF circuit consists of several metal layers and vias. The metal filling rate must be satisfied, usually 25% to 75% to satisfy design rules in the semiconductor process, especially chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) rule. Because of CMP rule...

The potentiality of millimter-wave (mm-wave) double-drift region (DDR) impact avalanche transit time (IMPATT) diodes based on a wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor material, Gallium Phosphide (GaP) has been explored in this paper. A non-sinusoidal voltage excited (NSVE) large-signal simulation method has been used to study the DC and high frequency characteristics of DDR GaP IMPATTs dsigned to ope...
